About & Contact

I’m the creative mind behind Being Boutique
owner of Megan Marlene Photography
and the Creative Director for CHIC Magazine

I love to find ways to combine over-the-top luxury with timeless charm, giving clients the experience of a lifetime. As the Creative Director for CHIC magazine, I keep my finger on the heartbeat of the photography industry. I found my niche in the boutique business model, and am passionate in helping other photographers achieve their dreams. Through Being Boutique I share what it takes to be a successful boutique photographer.

The Story Behind Being Boutique

When I first started my journey into photography, I absolutely fell in love with the concept of being a boutique business and am now striving to share what I’ve learned along the way and help inspire and encourage other photographers to achieve their dreams of being boutique.

Our Contribution to the Community

In addition to running my own boutique photography studio, Megan Marlene Photography (located in Anchorage, Alaska), I am also able to share my expertise and experience as the Creative Director and Editor for CHIC Magazine with Chic Critique Forum. I absolutely love being a part of such a glamorous community of talented photographers and rubbing shoulders with some of the coolest women in the industry!  On a local level, I am friends with a dozen of my “competitors” and we regularly stay up way too late commenting on Facebook statuses and swapping client stories.

The Mission of Being Boutique

Simply put, it is my goal to help other photographers achieve their dreams of being boutique. I’ve “been there, done that” (and have the stories to prove it!) and want to pass on what I’ve learned to each of you so that the journey can be a little easier. Beyond that, I’ve done the legwork for you and have gathered resources and inspiration from all over into one place so that you can spend less time on Google and more time on your business (and with your family!).
